eMusic – is a large retailer of independent music offering more than 2 million tracks from more than 13,000 independent labels spanning every genre of music. This is a program that you download to your computer and you pay $9.99 for 40 songs a month. There are over 500,000 songs to choose from. You can choose 3 different types of subscription programs. You can put your mp3s to your mp3 player or burn them to a CD. The only problem is that eMusic only carries independent labels.
uPlayMe – is free software that works with your media player like windows media player, iTunes, Winamp, (and many more in the future) and then tells you by sending an alert message to your desktop that someone else is playing the same song or video you just played.
